Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Lead for its Illinois practice, based in Chicago. The role demands strategic thinking, strong communication, and deep Illinois ITS knowledge.

You will lead ITS projects, grow the Illinois team, and collaborate with regional and national teams to deliver innovative solutions. The successful candidate will manage complex projects, develop client relationships, and drive business growth for ITS and V2X in the Midwest.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in transportation and infrastructure projects.
• Minimum 5 years leading, managing and mentoring teams of ITS engineers and technicians.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven leadership in a project delivery environment.
• Demonstrated relationships with State DOTs and local governments and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Serve as project manager, deputy project manager, or technical task lead for ITS projects.
• Grow our Illinois ITS team and capabilities.
• Collaborate with Local Business Leaders and National Business Line to drive growth in ITS and V2X.
• Lead marketing, pursuits, proposals, and client presentations in the Illinois region.
• Represent the firm at client events to promote WSP capabilities and gather market intelligence.
• Develop promotional materials and proposals for ITS initiatives.
• Coordinate with staff across disciplines to support diverse projects.
• Provide leadership and ensure design and safety standards are met.
