Job summary

QTech in Mechanicsville, VA seeks a Senior Planning Project Manager PMP to lead complex IT initiatives with multiple teams, vendors, and stakeholders. You will guide projects through initiation, planning, execution, control, and closeout under standard procedures.

Collaborate with development and business groups, manage budgets, timelines, risks, and deliverables, and produce regular reports. Must have PMP and experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex IT projects with multiple teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Ability to translate business/technical requirements into system specifications.
• Knowledge of PM methodologies and governance.
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall project management.
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a hands-on Technical Project Manager with development teams and business groups.
• Coordinate with ITD management, staff, priorities, and resources.
• Communicate timelines, milestones, deliverables to technical and business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and contractors throughout execution.
• Support contract management and procurement activities.
• Adhere to VDOT and VITA PM practices and governance.
• Coordinate with VDOT and VITA PMOs.
• Maintain budgets, plans, tasks, schedules, risks, issues, and status reporting.
• Disseminate project information according to communications plan.
• Ensure requirements and use cases are documented.
• Facilitate design workshops and define test objectives.
• Manage milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Define, measure, and track project progress with metrics.
• Support training activities and technology solutions implementation.
• Translate requirements into detailed system specifications.
• Support activities across analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, troubleshooting.
