Job summary

Kalamazoo County Government seeks a strategic, service-oriented Information Technology Director to lead the County’s technology operations through its next phase of growth and innovation.

The ideal candidate will align technology services with county priorities, build trusted partnerships with leadership, and deliver high-quality IT services, governance, and budget management to departments, elected officials, employees, and the public.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or IT or related field.
• 9+ years of IT and cybersecurity management experience.
• Experience aligning IT with business needs and budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Direct IT and information security activities for the County.
• Establish policies, procedures, standards, and strategies for technology enablement.
• Develop and administer annual operating and capital budgets.
• Advise elected and appointed officials on IT governance matters.
• Lead deployment and management of IT systems and cybersecurity programs.
• Oversee IT vendor contracts and purchases.
• Direct disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
