Job summary

AbbVie in North Chicago, IL, seeks an Inventory Planning Manager to coordinate the master production plan and optimize scheduling across the site. You will drive timely execution of the production window, align with planning centers, and support inventory targets while partnering with supply chain teams.

Responsibilities include leading weekly planning discussions, monitoring schedule performance, and guiding new product introductions to improve efficiency and predictability across manufacturing

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in Materials Management including MPS, Inventory Control, PAC and MRP.
• Experience with computerized inventory control systems and MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with management and external agencies.
• Excellent problem solving, analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a changing environment and coordinate with vendors, customers, and planning centers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute production schedules with manufacturing; ensure timely delivery of finished goods.
• Oversee work order coordinators/specialists; provide guidance and strategic direction.
• Handle unplanned orders and provide delivery commitments; maintain communication with planning and customers.
• Proactively communicate schedule changes/risks with stakeholders and enable right production decisions.
• Lead daily schedule review; monitor performance with material management and cross-functional partners.
• Prepare weekly/monthly production plan considering demand, lead times, inventory targets and trends.
• Manage weekly MPS lock discussions across plant groups to attain best finite schedule.
• Drive schedule reporting; analyze actuals vs plan; provide volume estimates for site reporting.
• Set strategic direction for NPIs focused on process, right first time, and schedule adherence.
