Job summary

MercyOne Health System, part of Trinity Health, in Des Moines is seeking a Communications Lead to provide leadership for internal communications across our regional health ministry, aligning needs with system strategies.

The ideal candidate will think strategically, manage cross-functional teams, and produce clear messages across channels. A Bachelor’s degree in marketing or PR and 5+ years in strategic communications are required; experience with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint intranet is a plus.

Qualifications

• Proven experience executing robust communications programs in alignment with marketing and communications strategies.
• Experience working with a cross-functional team.
• Experience building culture and supporting cultural change.
• Experience working in Microsoft 365, including SharePoint intranet.
• Ability to anticipate reputational issues and exercise high judgment under tight deadlines.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to build relationships with executives and leaders.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Elevate local communications activations and support local departments and foundations.
• Provide strategic consult and hands-on support to ensure MercyOne’s voice is authentic and consistent.
• Advance MercyOne’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to internal audiences.
• Manage internal communications infrastructure and channels.
• Craft local internal messages in the MercyOne brand voice.
• Write and edit communications plans, talking points, and intranet content.
