Job summary

King County Parks is seeking a Strategic Initiatives Project Manager (Project/Program Manager III) to join the Parks Division Director’s Office. This role manages a diverse portfolio of high-visibility projects with multiple stakeholders, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and transparent reporting.

The position follows a hybrid work model with both remote and in-person days at King Street Center, Seattle.

Qualifications

• Experience managing diverse projects with high visibility or community impact.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for internal leadership and public audiences.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage division projects, develop charters, work plans, schedules.
• Coordinate research and information gathering to support projects.
• Prepare clear visuals and written reports for updates and public audiences.
• Document lessons learned and propose process improvements.
• Foster effective collaboration among leadership, officials, community groups and teams.
• Build relationships inside and outside the division and with external sources.
