The Strategic Initiatives Manager (SIM) is a core member of the Strategic Initiatives team, responsible for planning, managing, and delivering complex, cross-functional projects that support HOPE’s most important enterprise goals. Working alongside Strategic Initiatives colleagues and internal business partners, the SIM will translate strategy into execution–helping drive growth, enhance service delivery, and strengthen HOPE’s impact across the Deep South. This role requires strong project management skills, a collaborative mindset, and comfort navigating ambiguity. The SIM will work across departments to align stakeholders, build and manage workplans, and deliver meaningful results on time and on budget. The ideal candidate has experience in business transformation, internal consulting, or enterprise project leadership in mission-aligned or highly collaborative settings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of enterprise initiatives, including project scoping, workplan development, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and reporting.
  • Serve as the day-to-day project lead for one or more high-impact initiatives, coordinating tasks and ensuring accountability for deliverables across functions.
  • Translate strategic direction executive leadership into clear, actionable next steps and drive progress forward in structured sprints or phases.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for business owners, functional experts, and department leads involved in each initiative.
  • Build consensus, facilitate alignment conversations, and help resolve roadblocks in collaboration with the VP and executive sponsors.
  • Support change management and internal communications strategies to keep teams informed and engaged.
  • Define project-level success metrics and track progress toward key milestones and KPIs.
  • Steer and support the production of dashboards, reports, and updates for the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Capture and share lessons learned, risks, and recommendations to improve future execution.
  • Support diagnostic work, current state mapping, stakeholder interviews, and other discovery processes that inform initiative design.
  • Contribute to internal playbooks, templates, and knowledge repositories that improve project quality and repeatability.
  • Ensure use of project management best practices and tools.
  • All roles in the Strategic Initiatives department are expected to be generalists that can support various projects and tasks as needed.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and take on new responsibilities as the organization evolves and new strategic initiatives arise.
  • Complete other duties as assigned to support the department’s goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

Required

  • 5–7 years of experience in project management, business transformation, strategy execution, or internal consulting.
  • Experience leading complex projects with multiple stakeholders and shifting requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to turn strategy into structured project work with defined deliverables and timelines.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency with project management and productivity tools (e.g., Asana, Smartsheet, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred

  • Experience in financial services, CDFIs, credit unions, or community development organizations.
  • Familiarity with Agile and change management frameworks.
  • Proven expertise in managing both digital and operational project components.

Work Environment:

  • Standard office environment with regular use of a computer, phone, and video conferencing tools.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
