Job summary

Heartland Food Products Group in Indianapolis, IN is hiring an Associate Strategic Sourcing Manager, Ingredients to develop and execute day-to-day sourcing strategies across direct ingredient categories. You will collaborate with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Operations and Finance to ensure supply resilience and cost-effective commercialization of new products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Food Science or related discipline.
• 2–3 years in strategic sourcing, direct procurement, or supply chain in CPG.
• Experience supporting bidding events, contract administration and supplier management.

Responsibilities

• Execute defined sourcing strategies for ingredient categories (sweeteners, coffee extracts, dairy, fats, flavors, acids).
• Conduct negotiations on pricing, terms, MOQs, lead times, and inventory commitments.
• Maintain supplier pricing, contracts and terms in ERP systems.
• Serve as primary commercial contact for supplier communications and POs.
• Track cost drivers and market movements to identify savings opportunities.
• Support NPI and change-control with documentation like COAs and allergen declarations.
• Develop baseline cost models and forecasting for ingredient budgets.
• Monitor supplier performance and contribute to quarterly business reviews.
