Job summary

Next Level Boston is seeking a highly capable, mission-driven Chief Operating Officer to lead internal operations. This part-time role (20 hours/week) reports to the CEO and will shape strategic direction and organizational performance from its Greater Boston base.

Most work will be done remotely, with in-person training and regular meetings. The COO will manage budgets, processes, and key relationships with accounting, legal counsel, grantees, and partners to maximize impact.

Qualifications

• 15+ years' experience in the nonprofit or philanthropy sector, with operations or communications experience preferred.
• Deep knowledge of Boston's social impact ecosystem.
• Strong written and spoken communication; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of strategic goals and overall management of the organization.
• Lead the performance management process and reporting for the organization.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage the annual budget and key external relationships.
• Oversee communications strategy, website content, and collateral.
