Job summary

KIPP SoCal Public Schools, a network of 20 high-performing charter schools serving 9,800+ students in California, seeks an HR/Organizational Development leader. The role focuses on strategic coaching, culture, and risk management to advance a high-performance adult culture across multiple sites.

Responsibilities include leading cultural interventions, ensuring timely investigations, and guiding leaders through transitions while advancing data-informed decisions. Travel to campuses is expected.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of relevant HR or Organizational Development experience.
• Thorough knowledge of federal, state and local employment and workers' compensation laws.
• Demonstrated track record as an HR Partner in a fast-paced multi-site organization (500+ FTEs); CMOs or K-12 education experience is strongly preferred.
• Deep commitment to upholding anti-racism standards and promoting a high-performance adult culture.
• Ability to travel frequently to KIPP SoCal schools.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Performance Coaching & Culture: identify gaps, coach leaders, implement high-quality support plans, ensure measurable improvements.
• Employee Relations & Risk Management: manage investigations, legal compliance, and risk mitigation.
• Operational Excellence & Innovation: translate retention data into actionable leadership moves; ethically leverage AI to accelerate workflows.
