Job summary

The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) seeks a senior HR Generalist to support the Director and assist in developing, implementing, and executing HR initiatives across all HR disciplines. The Associate Director will advise management on critical issues affecting departments and collaborate on strategic HR programs aligned with AACR’s mission.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 7-10 years of HR management experience.
• Knowledge of the various Human Resources Disciplines.
• Exemplary written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong team leadership skills.
• Ability to exercise good judgment.
• Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
• Must have excellent internal client service focus and be able to take initiative, respond proactively, and handle workflow with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Oversee AACR’s Talent Acquisition Process, including full-cycle recruitment for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborate with managers on openings.
• Assist in updating, developing, and implementing AACR’s HR Policies and Procedures.
• Assist in managing HR work processes and ensure compliance with employment laws.
• Oversee disciplinary meetings, separations, and investigations; coach management on performance and employee relations.
• Research, develop, and implement AACR’s HR policies and procedures.
• Manage health and safety, including OSHA and ADA compliance.
• Participate in performance evaluations and review compensation packages.
• Assist in planning and implementing HR projects and initiatives; maintain cross-department relationships and external vendor relations.
• Stay informed on HR trends, regulatory changes, and employment law.
