Job summary

Software Placement Group in Baton Rouge, LA seeks an HR Director to lead all people functions in a growing community bank. This department‑of‑one role blends strategic advising with hands‑on execution, reporting directly to the President and CEO.

You will design policies, manage payroll integration, and own recruitment, benefits, compliance, and employee relations. Partner with the leadership team to shape a progressive people strategy that supports growth and daily operations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years HR experience across employee relations, benefits administration, recruitment, and compliance.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Influence HR practice at all levels of the organization, with no direct reports.
• Frequent travel to branch locations during the workday; some travel for conferences.

Responsibilities

• Administer core HR functions: recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits, compliance, and policy development.
• Advise supervisors and leadership on hiring decisions, performance issues, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
• Maintain open communication with employees and coach on performance, conduct, and workplace concerns.
• Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures, recommending corrective action when needed.
• Oversee FMLA and PTO programs, including notices and payroll coordination.
• Maintain confidential personnel files and required employment documentation.
• Develop and maintain job descriptions across the organization.
