Job summary

DensityAI, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Category Manager to own the direct-material commodities for HPC compute systems. You will lead sourcing strategy, supplier selection, capacity planning, and cost optimization across CPUs, memory, power stages, connectors, and cold plates.

You will negotiate MSAs/MPAs/LTAs, manage lifecycle and continuity, and partner with engineering to drive design-for-cost decisions and multi-source strategies. California-based, on-site role with strong total compensation.

Qualifications

• Category management/commodity management portfolio ownership end-to-end.
• Negotiation of MSAs, MPAs/LTAs, NDAs, SOWs, pricing and rebates.

Responsibilities

• Own category strategy and the commercial relationship for components; supplier segmentation and selection, AVL, dual-source posture, multi-year roadmap per commodity.
• Negotiate agreements; MSAs, MPAs/LTAs, NDAs, SOWs, pricing and rebates; balance cost, capacity, quality, risk.
• Build and own should-cost models (silicon pass-through, BOM, tooling/NRE, index-linked materials, freight) for price negotiations and design-for-cost decisions with engineering.
• Run capacity planning; translate roadmap into a component demand plan; secure allocation and buffer coverage; make risk-buy decisions.
• Own supply continuity; lifecycle/EOL/PCN management; second-source strategy; escalation path for allocations.
• Partner across NPI lifecycle with hardware engineering, PM, CM/ODM supply manager; ensure part selection, qualification, and commercials land together.
• Drive directed buy/sell and consignment execution through CMs; price pass-through; auditable material control.
• Read the component commodity landscape and turn it to DensityAI's advantage.
