Job summary

DensityAI is seeking a category manager to own the components for our HPC compute systems. You will define end-to-end strategy for CPUs, memory, power stages, and related parts, coordinating with hardware engineering and suppliers.

Lead supplier negotiations, capacity planning, and lifecycle management; build should-cost models and multi-sourcing plans with design-for-cost input. Requires proven commodity ownership in AI/HPC hardware.

Qualifications

• Owned a defined commodity portfolio end-to-end.
• Experience sourcing multiple categories with direct supplier relationships.
• Proven ownership of MSA/MPA/LTA/NDA/SOW negotiations.
• Capacity planning against a hardware roadmap with allocation decisions.
• Sourcing strategy built with engineering input and design-for-cost influence.
• Fluency with ERP/MRP/PLM and BOM data management.
• Comfort with ambiguity and fast pace in a hardware context.
• Experience sourcing AI/HPC server components preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own category strategy and the commercial relationship for your components; supplier segmentation and selection, AVL, dual-source posture, and multi-year roadmap per commodity.
• Negotiate agreements — MSAs, MPAs/LTAs, NDAs, SOWs, pricing and rebates, allocations, and LTB/EOL terms.
• Build and own should-cost models per commodity and use them to drive price negotiations and design-for-cost decisions with engineering.
• Run capacity planning; translate the compute roadmap into a component demand plan and secure allocation with buffer coverage.
• Own lifecycle management, EOL/PCN, second-source strategy, and escalation for allocations.
• Collaborate across the full NPI lifecycle with hardware engineering and program management so part selection lands with the commercials.
• Drive directed buy/sell and consignment execution through CMs—price pass-through and auditable controls.
