Job summary

Sheraton in Lisle, IL, is seeking an Accounting Manager to support the Controller and Assistant Controller in maintaining internal controls across hotel operations. You will ensure timely closing, prepare month-end packages, and coordinate forecasts and financial reporting for ownership.

The role requires strong GAAP knowledge, ledger proficiency, and experience with bank reconciliations and cash handling. You will train hotel staff on financial procedures, review accounts payable/receivable

Qualifications

• Must be familiar with GAAP Accounting and have a strong understanding of the general ledger process.
• Ability to thoroughly understand and analyze financial statements.
• Strong knowledge of balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and coordinate monthly forecasts, including quarterly reforecasts for owners.
• Participate in monthly review of financial statements and general ledger classifications with property managers.
• Assist in monthly forecasting and prepare all month-end reports and tax reporting packages.
• Oversee bank reconciliations and treasury reports; coordinate cash handling operations.
• Review Accounts Payable invoices for accurate coding and processing for multiple properties.
• Review Accounts Receivable functions including billing accuracy and aging follow-up.
• Provide training on financial reporting and internal controls to hotel teams.
