Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• Experience in hospital financial management is required.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience working with external auditors is required.
• Experience supporting regulatory reporting requirements is required.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience is strongly preferred.
• Critical Access Hospital experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise accounts payable, payroll, and general accounting staff.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements and reporting packages.
• Support year-end audits and coordinate with external auditors.
• Conduct financial variance analysis and partner with department leaders.
• Assist in preparing annual operating and capital budgets.
• Oversee Medicare Cost Reports, DSH audits, and Form 990 filings.
• Monitor financial controls and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party reimbursement structures.
• Support financial forecasting and performance analysis.
