Job summary

Brilla Schools in the Bronx is seeking a High School Placement Counselor to guide 5th–8th graders through high school selection and readiness planning. You will work year‑round, including summer weeks, to support families and students in admissions processes and scholarship opportunities.

You will partner with Brilla High School Counselors and families to ensure equitable access to top high schools and continued alumni support across Brilla’s network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher is required.
• Counselor degree or certification is preferred.
• Experience in high school or college admissions counseling with results.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one counseling to students and families on high school selection and admissions.
• Build relationships with high-performing college preparatory high schools.
• Help students and families complete high school applications and financial aid forms.
• Develop and facilitate workshops on high school placement and financial aid.
