Job summary

Family Service Agency (FSA) in Santa Barbara County seeks a strategic, operational leader to become Chief Strategy & Operations Officer, guiding the executive team, shaping a clear strategic vision, and strengthening organizational performance across programs, finance, HR, and compliance.

You will champion trauma-informed practices, equity, and collaboration, build strong community partnerships, ensure privacy compliance, oversee budgeting and risk, and lead efforts to grow impact while

Qualifications

• Master's degree and at least six years of senior management experience in human services, or a bachelor's degree with ten years of senior management experience.
• Experience leading operations, HR, compliance, risk management, and strategic initiatives.
• Ability to travel throughout Santa Barbara County.
• Valid California driver's license, proof of automobile insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Background check completed successfully.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Partner with the CEO to advance organizational strategy and long-term planning.
• Lead operations and human resources to ensure workforce excellence and compliance.
• Develop and strengthen systems, policies, and processes to support growth and accountability.
• Coach and support high-performing leaders and teams across the agency.
• Guide budgeting, resource planning, and strategic initiatives.
• Serve as Privacy Officer, ensuring HIPAA and data privacy compliance.
• Oversee crisis response planning and organizational risk management.
• Build relationships with community partners, funders, stakeholders, and public agencies.
• Represent FSA and identify opportunities for partnership, innovation, and expansion.
