Carrie Rikon & Associates is seeking a Grocery Buyer to oversee procurement for a food company. The role is onsite at our College Point, NY headquarters, five days a week, reporting to the Sr. Director of Purchasing and Senior Buyers.

Responsibilities include forecasting demand, securing favorable costs, enforcing policies, and managing inventory turns. Strong Excel and organizational skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years of Purchasing or Vendor Management experience.
• Marketing/Logistics experience preferred or strong understanding of store operations and merchandising.
• Understanding of beverage procurement, logistics, inventory management, marketing, accounting and financial management practices.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills; ability to take initiative and make fact-based decisions.
• Ability to plan and organize effectively.
• Written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer aptitude in MS Office including Word and Excel.
• Ability to concentrate and deal with frequent interruptions.
