Job summary

Grocery Outlet Bargain Market is seeking a seasoned Grocery Buyer to lead category decisions, optimize assortment, and manage end-to-end buying and replenishment for assigned categories with an annual impact of nearly $80M. You will drive pricing strategies, supplier negotiations, and promotional planning to deliver value to customers.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience buying or selling consumer products.
• Discount retail experience desirable.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with calculated risk taking.
• Strong negotiation skills with bold offers.
• Collaborative, people-oriented with relationship-building abilities.
• Highly organized with attention to detail and follow-through.
• Excellent communication, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Analyze internal and syndicated data to identify assortment opportunities and trends.
• Define retail pricing strategies to optimize sales, inventory turns, and margins.
• Take calculated risks to drive customer excitement and engagement.
• Negotiate costs to enhance customer value perception.
• Recommend and champion innovative solutions during vendor negotiations.
• Manage DSD Order Guides in Power HQ, ensuring pricing and UPC data accuracy.
• Collaborate with Inventory Planning to grow sales while minimizing losses.
• Cultivate and strengthen relationships with current suppliers.
• Prioritize deals based on Open-to-Buy needs.
• Lead cross-functional alignment with Operations, Store Operations, Marketing, and IT.
• Set and execute short- and long-term plans aligned with team strategy.
