Job summary

The American College of Cardiology is seeking an Advocacy and Grassroots Specialist to support federal advocacy, HeartPAC, and grassroots engagement initiatives. The role collaborates with ACC members, volunteers, and internal teams to strengthen advocacy programs, coordinate legislative communications, and support the annual Legislative Conference.

Responsibilities include managing HeartPAC operations, coordinating grassroots tools and training, and serving as a liaison to Congress to mobilize

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
• Minimum of three years of grassroots advocacy and/or PAC experience.
• Federal legislative or health policy experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to travel within the United States.
• Ability to work well with others and be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Support the ACC’s federal grassroots and PAC programs.
• Strengthen ACC’s grassroots program by building relationships with ACC members and internal constituencies.
• Serve as primary federal grassroots liaison to activists and leadership; manage grassroots database and alert system.
• Prepare and distribute timely legislative communications in line with the Advocacy calendar.
• Develop and distribute federal advocacy alerts to educate ACC members and drive action.
• Assist in planning the Annual Legislative Conference.
• Coordinate grassroots advocacy tools, resources and training presentations.
• Maintain HeartPAC member database and process contributions/disbursements.
• Plan donor communications and fundraising events; coordinate HeartPAC meetings and events.
• Provide ongoing customer service to HeartPAC members.
• Coordinate legislator practices between congressional offices and ACC members.
