Job summary

Impact Justice is seeking a confident grant writer to lead the majority of proposals and manage the grants calendar across multiple programs. You will collaborate with program staff to turn information into funder-aligned narratives and oversee the drafting process.

You will work with the Director of Development, use tools like Instrumentl, iWave, and Bloomerang, and participate in a hybrid schedule in select U.S. offices. Remote work is not offered for this role.

Qualifications

• 1-3+ years of grant writing experience.
• Exceptional, confident writing skills — able to draft clear, compelling, funder-aligned copy without needing complete information upfront
• Strong organizational and project management skills — able to independently manage a drafting timeline across multiple concurrent proposals
• Working knowledge of institutional fundraising practices (prospect research, proposal writing, funder relations) in a nonprofit environment
• Demonstrated ability to work closely and collaboratively with subject-matter experts/program staff

Responsibilities

• Grant Writing – draft, edit, and submit the majority of Impact Justice’s grant proposals and concept notes to funders.
• Grants Calendar Management – own and manage the organization’s grants calendar and deadlines across 5+ program teams.
• Stewardship Support – assist grant reporting and funder relations as needed.
• Prospect Research – identify new institutional funding opportunities using tools like Instrumentl, iWave, and Kindora.
• Program Partnership – work with program teams to gather information for proposals and flag gaps for funders.
• Systems & Process Improvement – refine proposal workflows and language library, and align AI use with policy.
