Job summary

V2X, a global provider of smart infrastructure solutions, seeks an Assistant Controller to lead government contract accounting within the Aerospace Division. The role ensures compliance with FAR/DFARS/CAS, manages close cycles, and guides staff on complex journal entries, audits, and financial reporting for multiple programs.

You will collaborate with program managers and executive leadership on funding requirements, costing, and contract compliance, while driving process improvements and audit

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 8 years accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in government contracting (aerospace/defense preferred).
• Deep knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CAS, and DCAA procedures.
• Hands-on program/project accounting, indirect rate development, and government contract billing.
• Expertise in external and management financial reporting for government contracts.
• CPA or Master’s Degree preferred.
• Experience with DoD, NASA, or federal contracts a plus.
• SOX/internal controls and process improvement exposure.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close for government programs with accurate cost allocation and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Directly supervise accounting staff responsible for program financials and audit support.
• Prepare and review complex journal entries and reconciliations per FAR/DFARS/CAS.
• Serve as primary financial liaison for DCAA/DCMA auditors; coordinate audits.
• Collaborate with program managers, contracts, and leadership on performance and funding.
• Oversee timekeeping, labor distribution, and cost segregation to maintain audit readiness.
• Support policy development and internal controls enhancements.
• Lead ERP implementations and process improvements (SAP/S4 Hana favored).
• Participate in budget development, forecasting, and trend analyses for government programs.
• Perform ad‑hoc analyses to drive profitability and financial stewardship.
• Coordinate data for external/internal audits.
