Job summary

3M is seeking a Manager, Investor Relations to collaborate with 3Mers around the world and help shape the company’s investor communications. In this role you will lead investor engagement, analyze capital markets trends, and support earnings materials and events with cross‑functional partners.

The ideal candidate has a finance or related degree and 7+ years in IR or related fields, with strong Excel/PowerPoint skills and the ability to translate complex financial data into clear investor

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field (completed and verified prior to start).
• Seven (7) years of relevant experience in investor relations, investment banking, equity research, corporate finance, FP&A, or a related field in a private, public, government or military environment.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation methodologies, capital markets, and financial analysis.
• Experience working with institutional investors and/or sell-side analysts preferred.
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex financial and operational information into clear investor messaging.
• Ability to serve as an AI champion for the Investor Relations function, identifying and implementing opportunities to leverage artificial intelligence to improve IR efficiency, analytics, investor engagement, and decision-making.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work effectively with senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong judgment and discretion when handling confidential and market-sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Support the investment community engagement and execution of the company’s investor relations outreach strategy.
• Prepare detailed investor and analyst briefing materials, including company messaging, investment thesis analysis, financial estimates, and anticipated questions.
• Maintain a strong understanding of key shareholders, prospective investors, and sell-side analysts.
• Track investor feedback, sentiment, ownership changes, and key areas of investor focus.
• Support management preparation for investor meetings and conferences.
• Coordinate investor relations events and manage the IR calendar, including investor conferences, roadshows, and earnings activities.
