Job summary

Harvard University Central Administration in Cambridge seeks a Senior Director of the Harvard International Office to lead strategic, regulatory, and operational efforts for international students, scholars, and staff.

You will build partnerships with university leaders, oversee budgeting and compliance, and develop a resilient service portfolio while guiding a diverse, high-performing team.

Qualifications

• BA/BS required; advanced degree preferred in a relevant field.
• Experience in higher education administration or international education is essential.
• Strong leadership, communication, and policy interpretation skills.
• Experience managing 20+ employees in a complex, decentralized environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Harvard International Office.
• Develop and manage budgets, staffing, and service delivery.
• Collaborate with Campus Services and external counsel on regulatory matters.
• Represent Harvard in high-level discussions with government agencies and peers.
• Build cross-University working groups to respond to immigration policy changes.
