Job summary

Siemens Energy in Richland, MS is seeking a proactive Strategic Buyer to develop supplier relationships, manage RFQs and negotiations, and drive cost reductions across global regions. You will collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality to align sourcing with business goals and ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires 1+ year in procurement, strong problem-solving skills, and experience with SAP or similar ERP systems. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent
• Min 1 year of experience in Procurement/Supply chain specifically in the Buying function
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, continuous improvement and risk-analysis skills
• Advanced negotiation experience using sourcing methodologies (e-Auctions, spend pooling, TCO, supplier performance)
• Solid technical/commercial knowledge incl. drawings, specs, Incoterms, supplier objection handling
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP and advanced Excel

Responsibilities

• Develop commodity strategies to drive long-term agreements and cost reductions
• Conduct supplier negotiations across multiple regions to achieve savings and favorable terms
• Ensure compliance with procurement processes and IT systems
• Manage supplier selection, qualification, evaluation, and development
• Provide detailed cost analyses and supplier evaluations to identify improvements
• Collaborate with Engineering, R&D, Production, and Quality to align sourcing with business needs
