Job summary

Bowdoin College seeks a Gift Planning Officer to report to the Director of Gift Planning and work with the gift planning team on all aspects of the gift planning program.

Responsibilities include identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospective and existing donors, maximizing their annual, capital and planned gifts to the college; establishing long-term relationships with donors; marketing and communications; event and meeting planning; internal and external

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years development/fundraising experience; 7+ in gift planning preferred.
• Experience soliciting and closing gifts; ability to manage donors.

Responsibilities

• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors for annual, capital, and planned gifts.
• Develop and maintain long-term donor relationships and travel to engage prospects.
• Collaborate on annual strategic marketing and stewardship plans for Bowdoin Pines Society.
• Maintain knowledge of complex planned gifts and apply with donors and advisers.
