Job summary

Larson Maddox is seeking its first General Counsel to build and lead the legal function for a high-growth AI technology company. The role partners with executive leadership to shape strategy, governance, and risk management as the company scales across AI, software, and enterprise solutions.

The ideal candidate will be business-minded, hands-on, and capable of building the function from the ground up, including policy development, IP strategy, and strategic transactions.

Qualifications

• Legal leadership experience in high-growth tech or SaaS is required.
• Experience supporting governance, financing, and strategic initiatives.
• Ability to draft and negotiate complex enterprise agreements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary legal advisor to leadership across all areas of the business.
• Lead corporate governance, equity matters, financing transactions, and other strategic initiatives.
• Draft, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements, including complex contracts.
• Partner with sales, product, people, and operations to provide practical legal guidance.
• Build scalable legal processes, templates, and playbooks for efficiency.
• Advise on employment matters, policy development, and workforce compliance.
• Oversee IP strategy, portfolio management, and protection of assets.
• Manage outside counsel and regulatory risk management.
• Support strategic transactions, partnerships, and potential M&A opportunities.
