Job summary

BDO USA is seeking an FP&A Business Line Leader to oversee financial analysis and planning for a designated business line (e.g., Advisory or Specialty Assurance). The role collaborates with business line leaders to deliver insights that shape strategic decisions and improve financial performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required or preferred.
• Six or more years of finance experience required.
• Experience in professional services firms (accounting/financial services/advisory) preferred.
• Prior managerial experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel proficiency required.
• Experience with financial systems such as PeopleSoft, Hyperion or OneStream preferred.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Leverages technology to research, compile and analyze financial information, both standard and ad hoc.
• Monitors and analyzes financial performance against budgets/forecasts.
• Researches and determines causes of budget variances and communicates to the leaders.
• Collaborates with leaders to prepare budgets, forecasts and long-term plans.
• Provides financial processes/systems training to end users and seeks process improvements.
• Monitors balances and follow-up tasks for assigned region(s).
• Supports preparation of executive management and board materials.
• Establishes strong rapport with leaders and peers across the organization.
• Leads FP&A activities for a client base with medium scope of responsibility.
• Provides insight and analysis to leaders.
• Partners with firm leadership to anticipate issues, maximize profitability, and minimize risk.
