Job summary

Emerson is seeking an FP&A Manager to lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting for a multi‑divisional manufacturing and sales organization. You will turn complex data into actionable insights, partnering with operations, sales, and product management to improve forecast accuracy and drive strategic decisions.

This role requires strong Excel skills, experience with ERP/BI platforms, and a solid grasp of manufacturing economics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
• Significant experience in financial planning and analysis, finance business partnering, or related disciplines.
• Strong financial acumen with budgeting, forecasting, modeling, variance analysis, and management reporting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience creating impactful financial presentations.
• Experience with ERP systems, enterprise planning tools, and BI/reporting platforms.
• Knowledge of manufacturing economics, including revenue, margins, costs, inventory, and cash flow.
• Experience leading teams or projects and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
• Familiarity with AI/automation and analytics for forecasting and decision support.
• Ability to work on-site in Boulder, CO with up to 10% travel; US work authorization without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes with calendars, assumptions, target setting, consolidations, and reviews.
• Analyze and communicate monthly and quarterly performance vs plan, forecast, and prior year; highlight drivers and impacts.
• Develop financial models, scenario analyses, and sensitivity studies for investments, pricing, productivity, and growth.
• Partner with operations, sales, product management, accounting, and other teams to improve forecast accuracy and identify risks and opportunities.
• Translate operational metrics into financial outcomes and provide actionable recommendations.
• Prepare executive-level reporting and presentations with clear insights and actions.
• Collaborate with accounting during period-end close to align results with planning assumptions.
• Maintain governance and internal controls; ensure compliance with US GAAP and Emerson policies.
• Drive process improvements through automation, dashboarding, and BI tooling.
• Lead and develop finance team members, fostering accountability and knowledge sharing.
• Support special projects and Finance-IT collaborations to boost performance.
