Job summary

The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington seeks an Associate Director, Foundation Communications to serve as a strategic communications partner for the Foundation. You will translate priorities into compelling messaging, manage campaigns, and ensure alignment with the Federation’s mission, brand, and priorities.

Collaborate with senior leaders, craft engaging content for donors and fundholders, and oversee an editorial calendar aligned with Federation campaigns.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in strategic communications, marketing, public relations, or content strategy.
• Proven success developing and executing integrated communications strategies and campaigns.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills translating complex ideas into clear communications.
• Strong project management, organizational, and relationship-building abilities.
• Experience collaborating with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
• Philanthropy, nonprofit, or mission-driven sector experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Jewish customs or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Lead Foundation communications strategy to raise awareness, engagement, and understanding of the Foundation's role and services.
• Partner with Foundation leadership to elevate visibility and align communications with organizational priorities.
• Drive campaigns and thought leadership to advance Foundation priorities and strengthen its brand.
• Advise leadership on messaging, positioning, and opportunities that support priorities.
• Ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment across Foundation communications.
• Measure performance, share insights, and recommend improvements based on data.
