Job summary

The State of Oregon's Forestry Department in The Dalles seeks a Forest Resources Manager to provide leadership and oversight for the Forest Resource Program within the Central Oregon District. The role focuses on coordinating activities, directing staff, and maintaining strong relationships with agencies, landowners, and partners.

Responsibilities include supervising professional teams, contributing to fire protection efforts, and managing program development, budgeting, and policy

Qualifications

• Five years of natural resource experience or
• Bachelor’s degree in forestry plus two years of natural resource experience with program development, budgeting and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership through oversight, coordination and direction of Forest Resource Program activities.
• Maintain political and operational relationships with local, state and federal agencies, cooperators, contractors and landowners.
• Supervise and monitor the work of skilled, technical, and professional staff.
• Support the Agency’s fire protection responsibilities at local and statewide levels.
