Job summary

Performance Food Group is seeking aPurchasing professional to coordinate supplier identification, negotiate terms, and establish long-term contracts to ensure a reliable supply of high-quality products for foodservice distribution. You will maintain stock service levels and support special orders as part of a collaborative team.

The role emphasizes supplier evaluation, pricing strategy, and ongoing vendor relationships, with opportunities for growth in a dynamic distribution environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• 1–2 years purchasing or related area.
• Bachelor's Degree: Business, supply chain or related area (preferred).
• 2–4 years purchasing or related area within foodservice industry (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Select vendors based upon their ability to provide a continuous supply of product.
• Maintain relationships with vendors by resolving problems with invoicing, product, or delivery.
• Select product based upon market applications and vendor reputation.
• Negotiate prices and quantities against customer orders and market conditions.
• Negotiate long-term contracts based on continuous supply needs.
• Coordinate with distribution centers for emergency needs.
• Provide product and pricing information to sales and advise on pricing structure.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
