Job summary

Whitsons at the Berkeley facility in IL is seeking a Buyer to purchase raw materials and manage inventory to support uninterrupted production. You will use ERP outputs, supplier lead times, and pricing to make timely purchasing decisions and prevent shortages, working with Planning, Operations, Nutrition, and Procurement.

Requires 3+ years in buying or supply chain, ERP experience with Sage X3, and strong Excel skills. HACCP/ServSafe or ASCM certifications are plus; travel is occasional.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of buying or similar supply chain experience preferred.
• HACCP or ServSafe certification is a plus.
• ASCM certification is a plus.
• Proficient with Excel; experience with Sage X3 ERP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Orders raw materials for plant operations considering minimums, lead times, capacity, pricing and timing.
• Monitor Sage X3 ERP planning outputs (MRP/MPS) to determine order quantities and delivery timing.
• Partner with Planning and Operations to prevent production delays and identify missing materials.
• Manage site inventory through purchasing decisions and substitutions; participate in menu development.
• Communicate with suppliers about PO status, delivery timing, shortages, delays and credits.
• Support supplier qualification and sourcing for new products and opportunities.
