Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation in Findlay, Ohio seeks a Senior Financial Operations Auditor to lead and execute internal audits across MPC and MPLX, ensuring compliance with IIA standards and enterprise methodology. You will mentor staff, coordinate with external auditors, and drive continuous improvement.

This role covers planning, fieldwork, reporting, and advisory reviews, with up to 10% travel and a discretionary annual bonus program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Audit, or related field.
• Professional Certifications preferred: CPA, CIA, CFE, or other related certifications.
• Five (5) years of experience in audit, accounting or business-related roles is required.
• Two (2) years of audit experience with exposure to complex, large-scale operations is preferred.
• Up to 10% travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform staff and/or lead auditor functions for financial, operational, compliance, and special audits.
• Coordinate with external auditors, SOX 404 teams, and other assurance providers to ensure proper coverage.
• Develop audit programs and RACM; ensure appropriate scoping of risks/controls.
• Lead opening and closing conferences with clients and communicate findings.
• Mentor staff and manage assignments to ensure timely completion.
• Ensure audits stay on track within budget and report status to leadership.
