Job summary

RM Advisory Services (RMAS) seeks a Financial Analyst to support WMATA’s Office of the Chief Financial Officer. This role offers hands-on financial modeling, forecasting, budget analysis, and executive decision support in a government/transportation context.

You will build models, tools, and analyses to help leaders understand costs, forecast performance, evaluate options, and inform financial decisions for personnel costs, revenue, contracts, grants, and operating expenses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Public Administration, Data Analytics, or related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, or data analysis for government or transportation.
• Must be located in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
• Strong Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Government and/or transportation sector experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build Excel-based financial models and forecasting tools for personnel costs, revenue, contracts, grants, and operating expenses
• Support two-year and six-year financial forecasting and long-range affordability analysis
• Perform budget-to-actual variance and expense trend analysis
• Develop business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and staffing alternative analyses
• Forecast fare and non-fare revenue and perform scenario and sensitivity analysis
• Support grant, subsidy, contract, operational, and energy cost analyses
• Create reusable templates, dashboards, and reporting tools
• Prepare clear Excel, PowerPoint, and Word summaries for leadership
