Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Approximately 8–12 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong background in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, or management reporting.
• Experience reviewing or overseeing sophisticated financial models and analytical work.
• Ability to assess financial information critically and identify risks, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including effective communication with senior stakeholders.
• Experience guiding analysts or other financial professionals; public-sector, transportation, government, or complex program experience is especially valuable.
• This is a role this is approximately 10-hours per week and must be in the DC area.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level guidance and direction to the Financial Analyst supporting the engagement.
• Review financial models, forecasts, analyses, and project deliverables for quality, accuracy, and completeness.
• Guide financial forecasting, scenario modeling, affordability analyses, and other decision-support work.
• Challenge assumptions, methodologies, and conclusions when appropriate and help translate complex financial information into clear insights.
• Support resolution of project-level financial or analytical issues and interface with WMATA stakeholders on priorities and deliverables.
• Coach the analyst and help ensure work products are professional, consistent, and decision-ready
