Job summary

American Axle & Manufacturing is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst to lead accounting activities, ensure GAAP compliance, and prepare financial reports for internal and external use.

The role handles month-end close, foreign exchange, tax matters, and audit work papers, partnering with Inventory and Materials teams to ensure accurate valuation and reporting, while supporting forecasts and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 5-7 years of accounting, cost accounting, or financial analysis experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience with inventory accounting, standard costing, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Experience working with ERP systems, preferably Plex.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate internal financial controls, including SOX compliance.
• Assist Finance Manager with the standard cost process and cost roll updates in production systems.
• Prepare standard and miscellaneous journal entries during monthly close.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with Inventory Manager to ensure accurate material accounting and inventory valuation.
• Coordinate with Materials during physical counts and reconcile to GL.
• Support monthly forecasts and annual budgets; provide financial analysis for management and external reporting.
