Job summary

AWS Finance is seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst to own service-level P&L reporting for a portfolio of AWS services, including variance analysis and executive commentary.

You will build models, forecasts, and provide analytical support to GMs, PMs, and engineers to drive strategic decisions. We value intellectual curiosity, clarity in communication with senior leadership, and the ability to influence with data.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of quantitative role experience
• 3+ years of contributing to cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience
• 3+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience

Responsibilities

• Own service-level P&L reporting and consolidated financial views across a portfolio of AWS services, including variance analysis and executive-ready commentary for WBR/MBR/QBR and OP planning reviews.
• Build complex financial models, analytical tools, and short- and long-range forecasts to measure performance against goals.
• Collaborate with finance and business leaders—including GMs, PMs, and Engineers—to provide analytical support for strategic decisions and drive alignment across teams.
• Improve P&L performance through deep analysis of revenue trends, usage patterns, cost drivers, and operational efficiencies; support ad-hoc strategic projects and evaluate new business ideas.
• Write and present narratives for senior leadership that clearly communicate performance, risks, opportunities, and recommendations.
• Identify and implement process improvements, including automation and standardization, to increase reporting reliability and efficiency.
