Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a hands-on finance professional to own financial models, budgets, forecasts and reporting for silicon design programs. You will translate milestones into investment decisions and partner with engineering and commercial teams to inform pricing and deals.

You will analyze customer economics, support negotiations, and deliver clear financial guardrails while communicating risks to leadership. The role requires independent judgment and cross-functional influence.

Qualifications

• Hands-on finance professional with direct experience supporting silicon design or semiconductor development programs.
• Own financial models, budgets, forecasts and performance reporting for priority programs including headcount and investment tracking.
• Translate silicon milestones and infrastructure requirements into investment and pricing recommendations.
• Evaluate customer and partner economics, including engineering support, compute, tooling, licensing and contingent commitments.
• Present actionable recommendations and coordinate inputs across teams while elevating material risks.

Responsibilities

• Own financial models, budgets, forecasts and performance reporting for priority programs, including headcount and investment tracking.
• Translate silicon development milestones, cost drivers and infrastructure requirements into investment and pricing recommendations.
• Evaluate customer and partner economics, including engineering support, compute, tooling, licensing and contingent commitments.
• Build and maintain program-level revenue, cost of goods sold, gross margin and cash reporting with Engineering and Finance teams.
• Support deal negotiations and renewals with scenario analysis and clear guardrails.
• Present actionable recommendations and elevate material risks or unresolved tradeoffs.
