Job summary

POWYS COUNTY COUNCIL's Finance Department seeks a Finance Business Partner to support Education. You will provide high quality financial advice, information, analysis and interpretation to budget holders and finance colleagues to underpin effective decision making, performance management and compliance with statutory requirements.

Qualifications

• CCAB qualified or final stages of training to gain the qualification.
• Budgeting and accounting background with analytical and financial techniques.
• Effective oral and written communication skills at all levels.
• Ability to engage and influence colleagues and customers.
• Excellent ICT skills; ability to plan and prioritise to meet deadlines.
• Staff management and development skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake the role of a valued partner offering professional independent viewpoint.
• Administer the preparation and coordination of revenue and capital budgets.
• Liaise with budget holders and attend meetings offering financial advice and expertise.
• Contribute to year-end processes to achieve timely closure with good working papers.
• Extract and collate data for grant/government claims and returns for cash flow maximisation.
• Provide financial management information to support sound decision making.
