Job summary

Northwest Arkansas Food Bank in Lowell, AR is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to partner with the CEO and leadership team to ensure financial health and sustainability across finance, HR, and IT. The role emphasizes internal controls, scalable systems, and mission-driven financial stewardship.

The CFO will guide budgeting, reporting to the Board, and compliance for a nonprofit organization, while leading cross-functional teams and optimizing processes to support food distribution and impact

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 7–10+ years of progressive financial leadership.
• Experience in nonprofit accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Experience leading multiple functions (finance; HR/IT preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead long-term financial planning, forecasting, and scenario modeling.
• Advise CEO/Board on financial strategy, risk management and sustainability.
• Develop and monitor the annual budget aligned with priorities.
• Oversee audits, tax filings (e.g., 990), and regulatory reporting.
• Modernize financial systems for efficiency and data-driven decisions.
• Ensure internal controls and financial risk management.
