Job summary

New College of Florida, located in Sarasota, FL, seeks an Associate Vice President for Finance to lead the college's financial operations. The role directs accounting, reporting, treasury, budgeting, student financial services, procurement, and business operations to ensure fiscal stewardship and policy compliance.

The AVP for Finance will provide strategic financial analysis to executive leadership, promote internal controls, and drive continuous improvement across finance and business offices

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Bachelor's with required experience per Minimum Qualifications.
• Preferred Qualifications include a Master’s in business, accounting, finance or related field and eight years fund accounting experience in higher education.
• Florida Higher Education system experience; Banner Finance/Student/HR systems; active Florida CPA license.

Responsibilities

• Provides executive leadership for finance and accounting functions and develops strategies that support the institution's mission and priorities.
• Advises executive leadership on financial, operational, and strategic matters.
• Directs the preparation of the College's annual financial statements and oversees audits.
• Oversees budgeting, treasury and cash management, financial reporting, and student financial services.
• Ensures compliance with GAAP, GASB, state regulations, and Board policies.

Education

Master’s degree in appropriate area of specialization (business, accounting, finance, or related field)

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization
