Job summary

Mixpanel is seeking a Strategic Finance Associate to own the end-to-end financial planning for G&A in a high-growth SaaS environment. You will partner across business units to build robust models, drive planning standards, and influence leadership decisions with clear narratives.

The role requires deep FP&A expertise, strong business partnership, and the ability to design scalable planning processes. This hybrid role is based in the SF Bay Area or NYC and includes equity and benefits.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years FP&A or Strategic Finance experience with focus on G&A in high‑growth SaaS
• Proven ability to design planning processes and frameworks and to influence decisions without direct authority
• Expert‑level financial modeling skills; fluent in SaaS unit economics, driver-based forecasting, 3‑statement modeling, and scenario/sensitivity analysis
• Expertise across G&A; experience partnering with senior functional leaders on budget strategy and investment decisions
• Strong SQL skills and experience with BI tools, FP&A platforms, and ERP systems; data quality
• Excellent communication skills—distill complex analysis into crisp exec narratives
• BS/BA in Economics, Finance, Accounting; MBA/CFA a plus
• Experience with Pigment, Anaplan, or similar tool

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end financial planning process for G&A teams—from brief to delivery—defining quality standards and accountability
• Define 6–12 month financial strategy for domain, validate assumptions with partners, translate strategy into outcomes and indicators
• Build business cases for major investments with clear assumptions and second-order effects
• Design and improve planning processes, tooling, and data definitions across teams
• Lead cross-functional analyses with milestones and owners, resolve forecast disagreements with clear rationale
• Partner with budget owners to ensure data quality, metric consistency, and aligned assumptions
