Job summary

AE, headquartered in Mount Airy, NC, seeks a Director of Finance & HR to lead all financial and human resources functions, drive accurate reporting, cash flow management, budgeting, and internal controls while fostering a high-performance, people-first culture.

This role partners with Operations, Sales, and IT to align financial discipline with AES' mission, vision, and long-term objectives, overseeing multi-state HR compliance and guiding talent development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 12+ years of progressive work experience in accounting or related field with managerial experience in an organization of at least 100 employees including 5 years running an accounting function and direct accountability for HR compliance at a multi-site employer.
• CMA / CPA / SHRM-SCP certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial strategy, budgeting, and cash flow management.
• Oversee HR functions including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and compliance.
• Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and insurance.
• Develop CAPEX plans and ROI analyses.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and timely financial reporting.
• Advise CEO on financing, reserves, and liquidity.
