Job summary

Raphael House of San Francisco is seeking a Director of Finance to lead financial strategy and operations for a high-impact nonprofit. You will partner with senior leadership to optimize budgeting, reporting, and compliance while guiding the finance team and external vendors.

The role requires hands-on management, strong communication with the Executive Director and Board, and oversight of payroll, benefits, and grant accounting. Jan 2027 start with onboarding through late 2026.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a BA, ideally with MBA/CPA or related degree.
• 7–10 years in finance/operations; strong leadership experience.
• Experience delivering financial data, reporting, and audits.
• Grants management experience a plus.
• Training mindset to develop goals across the org.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial, project/program and grants accounting.
• Analyze and present timely, accurate financial statements.
• Lead annual audits with external auditors and Board committees.
• Manage budgeting, planning, and cash forecasting processes.
• Implement robust financial systems and restricted funds tracking.
• Ensure policy updates and process improvements in finance.

Education

Bachelor's degree, MBA/CPA preferred
