Job summary

The Director of Finance will lead the financial strategy and operations for the NJIT Foundation, partnering with senior leaders to ensure fiscal integrity, compliance, and sustainable growth. This role reports to the leadership team and works across the Foundation to support mission-driven initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a finance-related field is required.
• Progressive financial leadership experience; nonprofit or foundation experience preferred.
• CPA/CFA or advanced degree are preferred qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial strategy and oversight of the Foundation’s budget and finances.
• Prepare reports for the executive team, board of directors, and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, GASB, IRS, and nonprofit accounting standards; manage audits and Form 990.
• Oversee endowment and investment portfolio in collaboration with committees and OCIO.
• Support fundraising with clear financial narratives and donor impact analysis.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field

CPA, CFA, MBA/MPA or similar (preferred)
