Job summary

Westminster-Canterbury of the Blue Ridge seeks an experienced Controller to oversee the accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring GAAP compliance and timely statements. You will lead accounts payable/receivable, GL, payroll, and cash management while supporting organizational leadership with strategic financial guidance.

The role oversees budgeting, audit activities, and internal controls in a long-term care setting, with a starting salary of $135,000 to $150,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and GAAS principles.
• Experience in general ledger, endowment reporting, investments, tax, audits, and budgeting.
• Proficient with GL systems, Excel, and financial analytics.
• Experience in financial reporting to leadership for decision-making.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; strong project and time management.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all accounting functions, including GL, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll, and cash management.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
• Support strategic decision-making through financial analysis and recommendations.
• Coordinate annual audit and insurance renewals; collaborate with CFO on GL design and account maintenance.
