Job summary

Wake Forest University’s Reynolda-affiliated museum seeks a Director of Finance & Administration to oversee facilities, security, general accounting, financial reporting, and payables/receivables. This role partners with the university’s Financial Services to deliver timely financials and ensure compliance with donor intent.

The position leads the finance, operations, and payroll collaboration, guides budget development, and supports strategic initiatives, reporting to the Executive Director

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business with five to eight years of directly related experience.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage a team and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Knowledge of fund accounting including donor funds, government grants, and not-for-profit accounting.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor policies, internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures that align with the University.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual budget and forecasting processes.
• Maintain records of assets, liabilities, income and other restricted funds and expenses.
• Provide analytical and budget forecasting support to department managers.
• Manage monthly and fiscal year accounting closing processes.
• Coordinate year-end audit and assist with financial statements and donor reporting.
• Coordinate with Grants Manager on budgets and financial reporting for grants.
• Prepare tax returns such as 990 and related filings.
