Job summary

New Mexico BioPark Society seeks a Finance and Administration Director (Full-time, exempt) to lead financial and HR operations. The role ensures fiscal health, strong internal controls, and compliant reporting for a nonprofit organization serving the BioPark community.

You will manage the annual budget, audits, payroll, contracts, and asset management while working with leadership to optimize resources and risk management. Strong Excel skills and policy development are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven knowledge of GAAP for nonprofits.
• Experience with nonprofit accounting and grant regulations.
• Strong financial reporting and budgeting skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain GAAP-compliant financial statements and reports for nonprofit users.
• Review and implement accounting policies to comply with GAAP and grant requirements.
• Maintain internal controls for accounting, payroll, assets, and budgeting.
• Coordinate annual audits; liaise with auditors and provide documentation.
• Manage general ledger, cash, A/P, A/R, and payroll using fund accounting.
• Develop policies to secure financial and personnel information.
• Oversee capital asset management, depreciation, and asset disposal.
• Supervise finance and development coordinator to maintain ledgers and payroll.
